Lets chat about homeware!

Thursday 8 September 2016

Homeware and interior design are one of my favourite things, i love going to Ikea and picking up a few bits to go for my room i also love going on Pinterest and looking at all of the inspiration which is out there. So todays post is going to be me blabbering on about homeware and some of the things which could help you if you stuck what to do with your room!

Wall space
Most of the walls in our homes are very plain and boring, no pictures, no colour just a blank wall. This can make your room feel quite open and empty even if you have furniture in it, for example i had a plain wall space above my desk but i had no idea what to put there.

After looking on Pinterest for ages i came across something called a Grid Memo Board, these were all over social media and so i thought this was a brilliant idea to fill the space. Another way to fill wall space is pictures, you could have one large framed photo in the centre of the wall or a collage of different sized photos.

Colour Scheme
If your wanting to re-decorate your bedroom or any room in your house, finding a good colour scheme is first on your to do list! For my room it has more of a monochrome theme because i like they way it looks not to complicated and simple. However i still like to have some colour otherwise i find that it can become too plain.

Your theme could be vibrant and colourful, mono chrome and simple or something in between! Having blinds or curtains in your room is also another great way to add colour or to tone down the colour.

Decorations
When decorating any room plants are key, even if they are fake or not, i find that they always seem to add some life to your room and add a bit of greenery. I also find that if you have a monochrome room it is quite easy for the room to become too plain so it is always good to add some colour here and there.

Fairy lights are also a great way to add some light to your room in the evening when its getting dark, also as it is becoming autumn and then eventually winter and so i think it is perfect for making your room seem very cosy! Something else to make your room cosy is candles, they not only making your room smell amazing but they also add that extra cosiness!

I really hope enjoyed this post because i certainly enjoyed writing it and don't forget to leave a comment!
